Fanfiction is negatively represented in the media and here is my question to you: why? I think it is an excellent place to be as a writer. It’s a way to keep your favorite characters alive, an opportunity to create the next big adventure for them. It is also a great way to practice writing a story by weaving plotlines together, developing the characters, and by creating a setting.
The best (or worst) part is that others can leave you a review. It’s a nifty little box at the end of a chapter (or post) where you can give that author feedback. I have read fanfiction stories that are equal to or better than the original novel/series. I have also read terrible stories. The important part of fanfiction is that there’s a huge audience, people will read your stories and with practice, you will improve.
That’s my little soapbox. If I’ve piqued your interest, there’s a button on the bottom of my page that will take you to my fanfiction profile or subcategories under the “Fanfiction.Net” heading where you can find summaries of my stories and the links to them.
